What the hell Jean? I didn't get the fancy cover art on mine... am I not worthy?

A story about the Black Eyed Peas: I was tangentally involved with booking musical acts on my college campus. For the big student festival my last year, we booked the BEP to play as the headline entertainment act. As headliners they played the basketball coliseum which seats up to 14,000. This was in 2000, before they added the chick, and before anyone had heard of them. Not more than 100 people showed up. It was easily the most awkward concert I ever attended.

Of course, there was also the awkwardness of going to the show with a girl I was hopelessly in love with at the time, but had never approached in a relationship way. And then sitting right behind the girl I was sort of going out with at the time, but wasn't really feeling anything for. Later that same day I ended up confessing my feelings to Girl A and we talked all night before Girl B showed up at my door at 2 in the morning because I hadn't been returning her phone calls and she really needed to talk to me.

Black Eyed Peas: Their song "Let’s Get Retarded" was used in an ad for the release of Apple's new iMac. Although, they remixed the song by changing the words "let’s get retarded" to "let’s get it started." For some reason that bugs me.

Oops! I haven't read this post until now... I have no good excuse why. MG, people who got full-sized CD cases got the cover art to decorate the back. The full-sized cases were scrounged from around the house. When I ran out, I bought slim cases, which don't hold cover art on the back. I didn't think Blank would expose my evil plan. :(

I'm sorry to hear about the attendance at your concert. That had got to suck. But the romantic hijinks make you sound like quite the stud there! I hope the Peas took the turnout well. They're friends-of-a-friend of mine. I'll have to get someone to razz them about that one sometime.
