Sorry I’ve been so quite of late. Haven’t had much to say, or much time to say it.
Been very busy recently with classes, work, and oggling pictures of Tatu. What time I have had to devote to BS recently has been spent doing a lot of things on the backside that I’ve let slip for the past couple months. For example, I’m finally getting around to working on a new design. This one has certainly worn out it’s welcome with me, and I’m feeling the need for change. I’ve been toying around with something like this. What’d you all think?
In other news, the mystery poster from last week is now bonafide, and will be joining the already wonderful staff shortly. Things have been going swimmingly recently, so what better thing can I do than fuck it all up by throwing off the delicate balance that’s been working so damn well recently? As a matter of fact, I think it’s about time to put out another open casting call for authors.
Beating EvilTom to the punch, I think MG meant "quiet."
The new design is a bit unsettling, especially the Z.Cavaricci olive green. What the fuck am I doing here?

I like the design, although I do get a bit of vertigo with the diagonal strips. :)

Looks good man. All you need is a porn repository, somewhere in there, and shazam!! Perfecto!

Cashing in on the PATRIOTIC tip... MG, I like it, like it, NOT REALLY id you just mean this is going to be the center portion(margins stay the same). I dunno... DONT fuck up an already decent thing. KEEP THE same FORMAT as NOW, But just add some COLOR, it's good on the eyes.

THe only GOOD thing about the NEW Potential DESIGN(sorta like the new WTC design), is the aesthetics, but NOT the functionality. As for the latter, THE ONLY good thing as for FUNCtion...is putting the ON THIS DAY... in the MARGIN, instead of opening every new day in the MAIN BODY with it. Because #1 people have to scroll, nobody gives a shit about ON THIS DAY. and then, #2, it's as if you think the quality of writing to be PRESENTED has gotten worse and worse, and therefore you want NEW potentials to first see OLD SHIT.

Yo, MG, I like the new design a lot. Of all the proposed designs that you've ever posted, I like this one the best. It's really good. The blue bar that you use for the by-line really works. The right hand box also looks good. The two things that are iffy to me are: the left hand bar, specifically, the color choice, and the bad sam logo. The all-white look doesn't seem to have enough weight. Also, in the re-design, please remember to post Anna's pic. Oh, dont forget to post the new (naked) Linz pic.

MG, don't listen to EvilTom... He's bent on Usurping BadSam... hellbent.
He, he buys you diamonds, bright, sparkling diamonds. He could take you any place you want, fancy clubs and restaurants... But Believe me, dear when I say, that he can be the world, but he'll never love you the way... I love you... Oops, waiting for Anna's daily post.
You know what, Lockheed's gonna make a bid to join the BADSAM RoundTable.

Mee likes zee new design, no?

Alright! It's simple. Simple is good. All I care about are the recent posts and recent comments. Everything else can go somewhere other than the main page.

Yeah, what LostSoul said. That's how much I know about this sort of thing.

Yeah, brighten things up...color AND Lockheed!
(Anna, you're a wimp.)

Thanks for the comments. Apparently, its all good except for the hateful stripes on the left navigation bar. I'll keep that in mind as I finish things up.
Lockheed, amazingly, brings up a really interesting question, re: the "on this day" stuff. Does everyone find those links unecessary? I agree it doesn't deserve such a prominent position as it has in the current design, but when I added it I thought it was a neat extra feature. Though the current layout doesn't suggest it, I don't think the old content is better than the new stuff, just that there is a lot of great old stuff, that new readers may not have been around for, and might otherwise not take the time to go hit the archives and dig through. Comments?
by mg at February 28, 2003 6:59 AM
I say keep the archives. They sustained me for a bit while no one was posting anything new.
by Ezy at February 28, 2003 10:21 AM
dig it. way better than current. dont' give a fuck about the colors, so i'll refrain from that discussion. like the 'on this day' linkage...on particularly slow days, it gives me more to read and is way easier than looking through the archives. and yes, i'm a lazy bastard.

I think I may have managed to fix all the problems as mentioned up. Sure, its just a picture and you can't see the cool interactive thingees, but, is this better?
by mg at February 28, 2003 10:57 PM
That [picture] is lovely...streamlined. Oh, and give Lockheed a shot.
