Watch who you Piss Off

I assume everyone has heard about the psycho who killed a pregnant woman, then cut the baby from her stomach and then ran home to pretended it was her own. I doubt anyone has heard about another strange murder that happened in the same little town called Skidmore, Missouri.
A man named Ken Rex McElroy was known as the town bully in Skidmore. He terrorized everyone in town with a criminal record that included charges of more than 20 felonies that included arson, robbery and rape. On July 10, 1981, in broad daylight with about 45 people watching, while sitting in his pickup truck next to his wife, he was shot in the head with a rifle and killed.
When the police and FBI investigated, no one in the town would talk to protect the person or persons responsible for the killing. There were no indictments and not trial. They got away with it.
Later, the story was told in a book and in a made-for-TV movie starring Brian Dennehy.

I saw that movie, it was great. But anything involving Dennehey or however his name is spelled inevitably has that cheesy, made-for-TV feel to it.

You know the murderee and the murderess met over the internet. And Lockheed wonders why we haven't met in person yet...

I don't believe that for a second. How else would he know your wife's whole name?
The weirdest part of that story is how they always add that the baby she cut out of that womb is "in excellent condition." Physically maybe, but emotionally that ahd to take quite a toll.

Tell me again, what happened to my mother? I don't think I'm getting a mental grip on the events.
Can you imagine trying to explain? I hope to all the gods that this kid is given a poor education... I can barely get my head around what happened, and if it concerned me personally I would almost certainly have a breakdown of some description. I think it'd help a great deal if the mental competence of this child-come-adult matches that of the woman responsible for the murder.
What a shitty thing to say. But... Uh... They're my thoughts... *Irk*

Every time this recurring baby-stealing story comes up i am left to wonder about the thief's aquaintances. It is pretty obvious when somebody is pregnant and just as obvious when they aren't. She suddenly pops up with this baby and nobody suspects a thing?
A girl once tried to convince me she was pregnant with my baby. She had people driving her to doctors' offices and supposedly had prenatal tests, names picked out and everything. But she never gained so much as an ounce.
