snaggle

I make no excuses

by snaggle at 06:25 PM on July 12, 2004

This is a full-fledged, unapologetic plea for help and milking of all types of contacts. At long last, I have finished my graphic design degree and I'm now looking for jobs in the wonderful Los Angeles area (don't ask why LA — that's too much to go in to right now.) So if you have any contacts in the design field out there or you yourself are in the field, please check out my portfolio: http://www.public.iastate.edu/~snaggle.

Wish me luck.

Wow. You have come a long way. I don’t think you’ll have trouble finding work.

One thing I’ve learned from experience: You may want to get some sort of address in LA for your contact info, or not give a physical address. I’ve noticed that a lot of places won’t even look at you if they think you are relocating. They don’t want to deal with the hassle. I wouldn’t even bring it up unless they ask.

Are you planning on moving there before you get a job?

The cool thing about the link is how it looks like a snazzy website of its own. I take i you want to work in web design and/or computer-assisted graphics.

I always wanted to have a resume. But I never have had one. I got my job by default because the office manager owed me a large sum of money. And I just never left. 20 years now.

Good luck.

Wrong coast for me to be of any help but your portfolio looks amazing. You should have no problems.

If I had any contacts, do you think I'd be where I am now?

FYI - the link to your PDF book pops in the wrong frame.

Well, what good are you all then?

Well, I suppose letting me know about the frame problem was good.... but still. And maybe the address thing. Gah.

Maybe you should just stay in school and start a fourth major.
