a fake jamaican took every last dime with that scam
by mg at 01:27 PM on April 14, 2004
I went to visit my mom for Easter. I left shortly after my last post was uploaded, and didn’t get home till 5pm yesterday. Luckily the wife didn't get freaked out driving in four straight hours of torrential downpour, because even leaving as early as we had, I still had just enough time to eat a very unhealthy dinner (cookies), before heading out to my Tuesday night class. I wasn’t able to touch a computer while I was away (about 6 days), and am now buried in close to 1,000 email messages on top of the end of semester work-load of stuff that I should have done at the beginning of the semester, but was too lazy. I won’t even ask how it could possibly already the end of semester, but, as the calendar insists, it is. The point of all this is that I am alive, I am back, I will be around, but not completely so for the next couple days. If you happened to send me email over the last week, please send it again, since I will likely delete it rather than having to wade through all the spam. Also, if you’ve happened to forget, my birthday is less than a week, though there is still plenty of time to buy me something for my birthday.

Dude, why does your wife have to drive in a torrential downpour?
While you were gone Linz posted a pretty cool post but deleted it. I threw some some stuff up but not much response. I believe that her last post has left readers with comment fatigue.
Or maybe everyone is busy with taxes, or worse yet, wading thru 14 years worth of detritus than must either be sold, discarded or packed.
And those of you with wives know that everything falls into the latter category. Back to the grind with me.

Have I just been way too occupied with frantically trying to graduate ...? Wife? Eh?
by snaggle at April 15, 2004 2:20 AM
Wait, our birthdays are within a week of each other? Mine's the 23rd!
by Linz at April 15, 2004 10:08 AM
WIFE? huh? Did I miss something crucial since my absentia? Last year I bought you Neil Gaimon's Coraline? Did you get it? Something like you weren't there to sign for it? Fuck that, man. Lockheed bought you birthday present and you no let Lockheed become a Poster on the BSBOT. I'll have to think about sending you a present or not.
P.S. Start buying the US dollar againt YEN and maybe even SELL EUROS against the dollar. Basically, US dollar will get really strong again, really fast.

I'm occupied with graduating too, but I had time to get married. The least you could do is take notice.
Lock, or anyone else for that matter, if really would like access to post, send me an email and we'll work it out.

Am I the only reader who is still waiting for MG to explain the whole marriage thing? MG, you dropped this little bomb several weeks ago and I've been faithfully and eagerly checking in hoping to find out the scoop. I mean, seriously, married without even a peep here about it? Dude, some people blog about nothing else, six times ago, when they are planning a marriage. You? Nada.
Anyway, as someone who's been reading Bad Sam for about three years (or more? I've lost track), I feel as though I know a little bit of who you are. Your relationship issues aren't my business, in the sense that you have no obligation to tell me or anyone else anything. But I feel genuinely happy for you to have found the one you love, and would truly enjoy knowing how you lucked out, or at least who you lucked out with.

Not "six times ago", but six times a day. I need to hire my own proofreader.
by jadedju at April 16, 2004 2:34 AM
I dunno Ju. I kind of think some of MG's charm stems from his inscrutability. He's like an honorary Japanese.
