To any students at Furman University who may be reading this - please send all emails to me, and me alone. The rest of my staff had nothing to do with what has you all upset. And if you want to yell at me by name, please use Michael, seeing as that is my name.
I will personally and politely respond to each and every email that you send me. And just for the record, I am not getting off on them. I find them quite upsetting, actually.
To my readers - I'll explain this... eventually.

Gee, I'm glad you can take the extra time to write a special email to each Furman student that writes to you. That's a relief. Too bad you couldn't take the extra time to think about what you wrote and realize the trash that it is.

Well, when whoever you're referring to realizes he made a mistake and posts an apologetic retraction, maybe then some sympathy can be offered on his behalf.

It's interesting to me that no one who's emailed asked for anything of the sort. It was almost all heavy-handed name calling. When one does something that someone else considers in bad taste, immediately that person is void of anything positive. With the exception of one email, they were no more than yelling and screaming and venting.
Something I've learned: being rude and petulant doesn't get you anywhere.
I don't mean to be insensitive or rude, but your point is made. An apology is likey forthcoming, whether it be public on this site or via private email. Let it go. mg can't go back in time and take back that post any more than I can go back in time and stop Rob from going over that balcony.

Corey, I'm not going to defend anyone here, but I do want to point out that Michael knows what he wrote caused pain that only compounded what you all are feeling following a great loss in your life, and he knows it was wrong. Although you haven't heard those words from him yet, let me assure you, I have, and you will soon, too.
To the rest of you, harassing Michael online so that he has no breathing room to think straight isn't going to help him find his voice to say the words you need to hear. Please give him one night to do so. I am asking this of you even though it is you who is owed respect for your loss and Robert's life in this unfortunate case. Robert's life has to stand for more than his friends threatening the life of a stranger online, right?
Have patience. Michael is a good person. I wouldn't bother posting this if he wasn't.
